An Aerial View of a Leafy and Dewy Web. Polly Nance. Digital photograph. 8 x 10 inches.
I took these photographs today in the early morning. And, just like the last post I had on dewdrops, I felt compelled to post it immediately. I feel as if I did a better job this time… although, I loved the first photograph from my last dewdrop series… it is still the strongest, in my opinion. (To see my previous post on dewdrops, click HERE) I had to test out my new wide lens with some macro shots of these drops… probably not the best lens for macro… I think I prefer my standard lens… but it was definitely able to capture the wider, and more distant, view of the spiderwebs that I couldn’t before. So, I guess you could say this new lens has its advantages and disadvantages. The rest of these photographs (that aren’t of spiderwebs) are photographs of the drops I noticed dangling from my husband’s disc golf basket. The way they were hanging from the metal made the scene, and photographs, ever more chilling and wet feeling. I loved getting up-close and personal with these shots because I felt as if I was creating a new world; a world rarely observed by the average, unobservant eye. The spiderwebs transformed into delicate, dewy dreamscapes that granted me a visual moment within their temporal state of existence. Anyways, I hope you enjoy these photographs as much as I enjoyed photographing them. These were too beautiful in black and white to remain in color. I felt it gave them a more dreamy appearance. š

PEACE, LOVE UNITL MY NEXT BLOGGY-BLOG POST, DEAR FELLOW BLOG-READIN’ FRIENDS! š
Wow, these are just breathtaking! The photos of the droplets hanging on the web are magical! And I love the really tight shots of the basket with the chains (#4 and #7 in the series especially). Great experimenting with your new lens!
Thanks so much!!
Love the effervesce look of the spider webs! Thanks for getting up early to find these.
Thank you! š
It’s amazing how you’ve been able to take these so beautifully. Does it require a certain technique? The 9th photo reminds me of octopus suckers, funnily enough.
I just get in as close as I can and shoot… The closer the better… and try different angles. Thanks for the feedback!
Amazing pictures! Thank you for sharing š
Thanks! And thank you for the feedback and for stopping by!
A marvellous array of shots. The droplet theme is most striking. My favourites are of the spider web – the feel of water suspended is fascinating.
Thank you so much. I tried to get an aerial shot of them so that the drops would feel suspended… I’m glad you liked the perspective. I appreciate the feedback! What a magical web this world weaves for us to observe š
Looks like something under a microscope! Love the details. You’re right … It’s a whole new world the average person doesn’t often get to experience.
Thanks so much… glad to have the feedback. I’m also glad that someone else feels the same joy, as I did photographing them, when they view these… makes me feel like I’m becoming a stronger photographer. I’m learning and understanding more about the world as I delve into it on a macro level. š
perfect pictures!!!

Thank you so much! I hope you’ll come back again! š
These are gorgeous, awesome color and look and feel. I love them alll. Thanks for finding my blog, I’ll be watching you for sure!
Thanks so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed them… and, naturally, I’m thrilled to hear you will be back! Thanks for the feedback š
Stunning. The black and white really adds to the droplets.
Thank you! =)
Stunning, you simply cannot beat black and white photography.
Dave
Thanks! Black and white photography… if great photography… is truly breathtaking. I feel myself thinking in terms of black and white often… when thinking of compositions as I photograph different subjects. It adds so much charm to an image. Thank you so much for the feedback š
Very unique photos Polly – It’s incredible what we can see through the lens of a camera and yet not notice it otherwise !
Well done –
So true… I’ve been living in this same house with this same backyard view for three years… and I’ve only recently begun exploring it in more depth… a camera opens your eyes to the world for sure! Thanks for the feedback! š
Love the images done in black and white. I think showing them in color would not have been as dramatic. Keep shooting, and thanks for liking my recent post!
Thanks so much… I totally agree with the black and white verses color feedback. I don’t know if you had the chance to view my previous post of dew drops that I linked in this post… but I tried some in color. And, looking back now, I don’t find them appealing at all… they are week in comparison to the black and white ones! Thank you so much for the feedback and I hope you will come back again!

beautiful and enchanting twinkles !
Thank you!
I have a particular fondness for dew drops. Beautiful imagery. š
Thank you so much! Dew drops are so beautiful to photograph… Have to catch them at the right moment :). Glad you enjoyed these!
Nice series of frames. Thanks. I like the choice of black and white. Given the right subject B&W gives some photos something that is missing in color. I’ve enjoyed composing with a black and white viewfinder, lately. I think it pushes me to make different choices when i’m shooting.
Beautiful!
beautiful shots holly! you have a nice eye š
wow! your shots are extraordinary! š
I agree, these are too beautiful in black and white. I absolutely love these photos. Amazing
Your continuation of the dewdrop theme is going strong. I like the first three images because the dewdrops dominate. But I notice as you move through your pieces the other objects begin to dominate and the dewdrops become less. I like the juxtaposition in form and composition. The black and white photograph really serves to pull this series together.
Great images Polly! really felt the coolness of the early morning š
Spectacular. š
I just loved them. I did some similar photography today, but mine were rain drops. Will post soon! š
They’re like their own little universes, aren’t they?
lovely drops. and light.
nice series, Polly.
Love the dewdrops! To me the spiderweb ones look like they are frozen images of splashing water. A contrast between the reality of the quiet moment you were photographing, and how my mind saw it as an action photo. Cool.
These are beautiful pictures. I especially liked the second one in the set.
Brilliant set of images, great work š
Well … nice to meet you!!!
And many thanks … I hope you will come to Rome, in Italy, with your family, you’ll have lot of fun with your very beautiful photographs! š
I love that these are in black and white. It does lend to a mystical quality, but moreover celebrates the shapes and textures via contrast. Makes it a more complex image, i think…
Agreed. Beautiful.
WOW
Beautiful images. I was just talking yesterday about droplet-covered spider-webs and how much I love them!
Thank you so much!
These are great shots dear Polly, so beautiful, like a poem… Thank you, with my love, nia
I like radiating drops, perhaps, as a sugestion if the backgroung were darker. Gary Hess
I’m sure you go this a lot, but I find your compositions to be extremely beautiful. The use of subject matter and use of lines within the composition help the eye to flow across the piece smoothly. I have tried to do photography my self…even took a class on it, and I know that it takes a certain kind of eye for the art. Because of my attempts in this field, it have given me an even greater appreciation for those who can do it so effortlessly, to convey a mood/feeling within it’s viewer. I think your work is great and I highly encourage you to keep up the good work and keep producing! I’m interested in seeing your next posts.
The detail, lighting and composition are out of this world, I hope to learn a lot from you! I cannot thank you enough for bringing me to your attention by liking something of mine. I do so hope that you come by and let me know what you think of something of mine sometime, you are very talented; oh I am just a beginner! ….RaeDi
I love this because it’s like a ghost’s been superimposed over the world. Pretty.
These photos are really beautiful, love them š
Sally
Am lovin the first image. Dunno why but I just love it!
Very beautiful set of photos. FATman
I’m pleased to see these in black and white where we can focus on composition and shapes instead of vibrant colours. You do great things with your camera, miss! I quite like the angles and the cropping in the later images. There’s a lot of repetition of pattern, line, and shape in each image. What a lovely series of photographs!
