Zoo Animals That I Forgot to Post About… Rarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

A Red Panda Munching on Bamboo. Polly Nance. Digital photograph. 2012.

I have not been good about my blog lately!!! Grrrrr. Yes, this is me talking to myself as if I’m the only reader lol. Anyways, I posted awhile back about the birds and other reptiles my family and I saw on our adventure to the zoo. If you would like a refresher you may view

my previous post.

Here are the other zoo creatures that struck my eye!! All I really have to say is, can I please be an orangutan? They have the life. So orange and so fun. Never a dull moment. Or, when the dull moments arise, they go and nap in their cozy hammocks. Hope you enjoy these forgotten (but MEMORABLE duh) photos… 🙂

    • Thank you so much!!! I appreciate it. The zoo kinda makes me sad, but the animals are so cool and beautiful that I still enjoy going there. So many animals to photograph. Thanks so much for your comment 🙂

    • Thanks Bob!! They are nothing like your bird photographs but I feel as if I’m getting better each time I go out there and shoot. Thanks so much for your comment. I still need to buy 2 copies of your book! Or maybe 3 lol 🙂 it makes for a great Xmas gift 🙂

      • Thanks, Polly, about wanting to buy a couple of books. The discount is good through my Blurb publisher through the 21st of October. (3 more days) I think with the discount, you get the hardcover for 37.95, or the soft-covr for about 28.95. (I think). You are right, they make great gifts.

  1. Love your zoo photos. We live near a small zoo, the Brevard Zoo in Viera. It has giraffes, lemurs, and jaguers among its many wonderful attractions. It doesn’t have a panda, gorillas, or zebra. Looks like you had a great time.

    • Thank you! I wish there had been a jaguar… there was a tiger but he was not in the mood for photos lol. Neither were the lions nor the elephants and a lot of other animals lol. Nap time at our lunchtime. Makes perfect sense. But, it was great fun! Thank you so much for your feedback 🙂

  2. Lovely pics Polly, especially of the kids with the statues. I have a problem with zoos. I know that a lot of them – such as London Zoo – do some great work in protecting endangered species and I will support these. But there are still many in the world who just have wild animals locked up in caged areas to make money. And it these that I protest about. As wonderful as the animals are, and as wonderful as it is for us to see them, whereas we may not get the chance otherwise, it is still not right that wild animals should be caged for the benefit of humans. Don’t you think?

    • Yes! I actually completely agree… Read my last post about my zoo adventure. You will see I have similar thoughts. Thus, why I portray some though their cages. Thank you for your thoughts and comment 🙂

  3. Looks like a great time! I would love to be able to hang out in a hammock whenever I wanted to…. *sigh*……. 😉

That goat being brushed is making a face like my cats do when they get brushed – he DOES look like he’s enjoying it!

Love the whole set here! 🙂

Let me know what you are thinking :)
