What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up?

My son’s homework yesterday (he’s five and currently in kindergarten; Montessori track) was to draw what he wants to be when he grows up. And afterwards, he had to write a sentence stating what he wanted to be. He knows how to write, but isn’t at the level where he can form words just yet, so we helped him with his spelling. The end result was too cute and I had to share!

BACKGROUND STORY OF RUSH’S IMAGE:
My husband recently bought a Wii-U and my son Rush has since found a love for a game within Nintendo Land, called Pikmin. Apparently, there are two other full version games that have been out for years. My husband, being the big kid that he is, bought the second Pikmin game and fell in love with it as well. Therefore, when he heard Pikman 3 was coming out, he preordered a copy. Since receiving the game, my son has loved every minute of watching my husband play. My husband even bought Rush a Pikmin 3 guide book and he looks at it all the time too lol. It really is a cool game… Like stepping into another world.

So… When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, Rush replied that he wanted to be the greatest Pikmin player in the world. My husband and I encouraged him to come up with a career that would fulfill this love of Pikmin (without him only wanting to play video games for the rest of his life… Ugh! Lol). So, he decided he wanted to be a “video game maker.” And, we went with it lol. I love how he drew the wii-remote and nunchuck!

(Side note: we limit his screen time and video game playing time, so I don’t want everyone reading thinking we let him play games all day long lol… He does have other interests!)

Hope you enjoy this pic of my son’s homework! πŸ™‚

    • Ha thank you! As an artist, I’m trying to teach him to draw… He loves to but his attention span is only so long. So, I told him to draw the shapes he sees! That’s what my college art professor taught our class πŸ™‚

Let me know what you are thinking :)
