My family and I went to Gatlinburg, TN this past weekend (kids had school off today). And what a strange place it is! It’s like Vegas or Disney World… For families. A mountain town with Southern charm, yet full of concrete. One long strip contains all the tourist attractions, including many Ripley’s Believe It or Not attractions. We had a blast but, next time we go, we plan on renting a cabin and enjoying all the beautiful nature Gatlinburg has to offer.
Here are some photos from our trip. My kids favorite thing we did was the Ripley’s Aquarium. I thought it would be sad and disappointing compared to the Georgia and Tennessee Aquariums, but it was far from disappointing! I had fun converting all my aquarium captures into black and white… Gives them an eerie vibe. Hope you enjoy!

Polly, what a lovely set of photos!! My favorites are the one before the shark (a jellyfish?) and the two after.

Yes jellyfish!! Mesmerizing creatures! Thanks so much for your comment. Glad you enjoyed these photos π
lovely set of B&W captures. my favorite is the jelly fish capture.
Thank you! π
What is the shot before the jellyfish? It’s really cool… people moving? I really like the nautilus. What an interesting (and kind of creepy) fellow.
Yes! It was taken at the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum. It was a motion to screen simulator that mimicked movements to whatever you were doing while they played a song… Took it (that’s me and my iPhone on left) when some girls walked in the room and started dancing π Thank you for your comment! π
