Last week, I had the honor and pleasure of attending my children’s school parade! It was probably the cutest sight I’ve seen in a long time. The kids had been learning about all the various cultures that exist in our world for an entire month. We were told that there would be a parade at the end of the unit, to bring the theme to a close and to show off what the kids learned. I thought it sounded adorable and fun; a great way for the parents to mingle and get to know one another. The only thing I disliked was having to frantically run out the day before and track down some black pants and a white shirt for Rush. Luckily, I found some but they were a tad big. Rush had to roll them in order to keep them from falling off. He didn’t seem to mind, though, because he was excited for the big parade. Each class was assigned a different country (culture). Lennon’s preschool class represented India and Rush’s pre-K class represented China. I had so much fun watching all the kids prance around in their cute costumes. My favorite was probably the class that was assigned Jamaica. I laughed out loud when they rounded the corner. Rush’s class even gave a performance of “It’s a Small World” during the cultural dinner (each parent brought in an authentic cultural dish… appropriate to their child’s assigned country). It was a day I’ll never forget! I cannot believe how big my kids are getting! Anyways, I hope you all enjoy these photographs of the cultural parade! They make me smile and I hope they make y’all smile too 🙂
