re:loom
It was a tremendous honor to be able to photograph the weavers of re:loom, while at their weaving workplace… the Weave House. Here are some detail shots of the looms I took as I walked around and observed the Weave House. All rugs are made from upcycled materials that have been donated. All proceeds go to the non-profit organization, Initiative for Affordable Housing; an organization that provides jobs and affordable housing to homeless and low-income individuals. Check out theย re:loomย online store! Just launched!… great product, for an even greater cause. ๐ There might even be a few photos you recognize ๐

PEACE, LOVE UNTIL MY NEXT BLOGGY-BLOG POST, DEAR FELLOW BLOG-READIN’ FRIENDS. ๐
Really like the series–reminds me of the many, many days that I spent weaving and making baskets from natural materials. Thanks for the memories, Sally
Thank you so much! So glad I could take you down memory lane… I took weaving at the camp I went to every summer for 7 years. There is nothing better than creating with your own two hands. Thanks so much for the feedback ๐
Great series Polly. Beautiful images of a worthy subject.
Thank you so much! Definitely a worthy subject and I appreciate the feedback… can’t wait for these babies to hit the market! ๐ Hope life is grand. ๐
Beautiful shots!
Thanks so much! ๐
Thanks for stopping by my little spot Polly, these are really cool looking.
Sure thing! Glad you stopped by here as well. Hope you will come back again ๐
I can feel the textures.
Yay!!! Your comment has made my day ๐ Thank you for the feedback ๐
Lovely shots and a great cause!!
Thanks so much! Glad you stopped by ๐
These photos are really stunning. The angels and the colours are wonderful!
Thank you for your kind words and feedback! It is much appreciated ๐
Super photos of a craft/trade that most folks no nothing about. Well done Polly!
Thanks so much! That is very true, most don’t know about the craft of weaving. I had no clue the looms were so large!
Thanks for sharing this. Love the photos.
No problem… I’m so glad to hear you loved the photographs. Thanks so much for your feedback ๐
Great shots! love the composition on these images, specially the first.
Thank you so much! I work hard on compositions so I’m very happy to hear your feedback. Thanks for stopping by!
love the shots
Thanks! :0)
A lovely set of pictures, Polly – each of them has something different to give. Adrian
Thanks so much! I’m glad you think so… I was just playing around in the Weave House. I didn’t think anything would come of these photographs because I was there to photograph the weavers. However, I ended up loving most of the detail shots I took… and so did re:loom! Some of these are on their website. This has been a fun project to work on ๐ Thanks so much for your feedback ๐
beautiful
Thanks ๐
Nice shots (well, except for #2…too dark, but I can see where you were going with it composition-wise).
Yeah number 2 is a little dark… I took that photograph while trying to get my camera on the right setting, but I ended up liking it for its darkness because I felt it highlighted the thread beautifully. Thanks so much for your feedback!
Love the one with the pink yarn. Such an unexpected surprise amid all the browns and blacks from the loom!
Great pics!
Those are lovely shots. Looms have always fascinated me but I don’t know how to weave, seems like it would be pretty cool. Thanks for visiting my blog.
These are so rich and lush and, well, they seem edible…not sure I can explain that, but they’re great.
Once again…Excellent pics Polly.
I think it’s a great effort to help the needy. I remeber my chilhood days when my grandfather use to weave the same stuff. Thanks for sharing.
I like the different compositions you find, and the patterns made by the threads. Have you ever thought of doing a 365 project?

My mother used to make these rugs. Great photos.
Thanks so much. I love to hear that… And I love how each of these carried a story with them. A story about each weaver who handwove them. Thank you for your comment ๐
Great shots…
What a lovely shot to pick for the first image on this post. I love the soft light! It really highlights the delicate appearance and vibrant colours of the loom threads. What a great cause to come together for, too! Looking forward to seeing what else you post in your blog. Giving you a little follow to see where you take your work! ๐
Thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback! Soft lighting adds a delicate touch, I do believe. ๐ thank you so much for the follow!
Outstanding images! Great project.
I love the soft light and the pastel colours, it can’t have been easy to get the exposure and colour balance right for these, it would have been so easy to over saturate or get too much contrast with harsh lighting. Oh – and they look better without the watermark too! As always, well done!
These are WONDERFUL!
Cool learning experience and nice photos ๐
